It is purely an independent body established under the Ministry of Health &amp; Family Welfare, Government of India. The FSSAI was established under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\nMoreover, FSSAI helps to regulate and it also supervises the functioning of the\nfood businesses in India. It is mandatory for all the food business operators,\ndistributors, retailers and the storage houses to get FSSAI License. FSSAI is\nlocated in major 5 regions like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Northern regions, With head office located at\nNew Delhi<\/li><li>Eastern regions<\/li><li>North-Eastern region<\/li><li>Western regions<\/li><li>Southern regions<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Food safety and standards act, 2006<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Consequently, an Act to<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/tirupur\/fssai-registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FSSAI (opens in a new tab)\">FSSAI<\/a> unite the laws relating to food and<\/li><li>In addition, this act establishes the \u2018Food Safety and Standards Authority of India\u2019 <\/li><li>This act Lays down science based standards for articles of food and<\/li><li>It also regulates their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import, to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This Act dominated all other food\nrelated laws like Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, Food Products Order,\nMilk and Milk Products Order, Solvent Extracted Oil, De- Oiled Meal and Edible\nFlour Order, 1967 etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Process to get Food license<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FSSAI-license-easily-online-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-700\" width=\"362\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FSSAI-license-easily-online-3.png 770w, https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FSSAI-license-easily-online-3-300x164.png 300w, https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/FSSAI-license-easily-online-3-768x419.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 362px) 100vw, 362px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In essence, FSSAI has introduced an online application called&nbsp;Food Licensing and Registration System&nbsp;(FLRS). FLRS provides the option for checking the eligibility for the license and applying through online. In addition, it sends automated alerts to the applicants via SMS or email so that the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/tirupur\/fssai-registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" FSSAI registration (opens in a new tab)\"> FSSAI registration<\/a> and license can be renewed on time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for food license who should follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 First go to \u2018http<em>: \/\/foodlicensing.fssai.gov.in<\/em>\u2019&nbsp;website\nand check your&nbsp;eligibility criteria&nbsp;for registration or state\/central\nlicense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Fill the sign up form under selected criteria and activate\nyour account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Now sign-in to your account and start filling the application\nform. Make sure have all the&nbsp;documents required&nbsp;for the selected\ncriteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 Submit and take a print out of your application. A&nbsp;reference\nnumber&nbsp;will be shared with you which will help in tracking the status of\nyour application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving the application, the authorities will\nexamine and carry out an inspection. If the inspector gets satisfied, he\/she\nwill forward the report and the FSSAI license will be issued by the concerned\nauthority. This may take up to&nbsp;60 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to verify the FSSAI License\nNumber Online?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fssai-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-703\" width=\"403\" height=\"226\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has introduced about more number of reforms towards ensuring hygienic and healthy foods to the consumer. Recently, some of the modifications was implemented in such way that food safety audit conducted in food manufacturing and restaurant premises across India, and the regular inspection of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solubilis.in\/fssai-registration-coimbatore.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FSSAI registration (opens in a new tab)\">FSSAI registration<\/a> and FSSAI license among the food business operations in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the food businesses operator\nmust obtain a <em>food license<\/em> or FSSAI\nregistration through online before commencing their food business. The FSSAI\nnumber has to be mentioned compulsory in the product and within the premises.\nAn FSSAI License is valid up to next 5 years, one has to renew the FSSAI\nLicense by providing necessary documents after 5 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FSSAI license number<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, there are different kinds of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/tirupur\/fssai-registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FSSAI registration  (opens in a new tab)\">FSSAI registration <\/a>number based on the scale of the food business operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The 14-digits of an FSSAI license number are\ndivided into 5 groups.<\/li><li>Each groups represents the information regarding\nto the type of the food business operator, compared to others.<\/li><li>The FSSAI authority identifies the category of\nfood business operator.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About 5 different groups of the FSSAI registration number<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1st digit&nbsp;represents whether the business is having&nbsp;FSSAI registration or <em>FSSAI license<\/em>. In case of FSSAI registration, 1st digit will be \u20181\u2019, while in case of FSSAI license, 1st digit will be \u20182\u2019.<\/li><li>2nd and 3rd&nbsp;digit describes the&nbsp;FSSAI License state code. Central FSSAI license is represented by \u201800\u2019, while State licenses are shown by successive digits.<\/li><li>4th and 5th&nbsp;digits show the year when the business got the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.corpstore.in\/coimbatore\/fssai-registration-coimbatore.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FSSAI registration (opens in a new tab)\">FSSAI registration<\/a>.<\/li><li>6th, 7<sup>th<\/sup> and&nbsp;8th&nbsp;digits indicates the Registrar Officer under whose influence the FSSAI License falls. So, each state will assign these digits from&nbsp;001&nbsp;to&nbsp;999&nbsp;as Registrar Officers.<\/li><li>9th to 14th&nbsp;digits show the number of the food business operator, who is under a specific Registrar Officer. Each Registrar Officer can hold up to&nbsp;10 lakh&nbsp;food businesses or serial numbers up to999999.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When FSSAI License has to renew?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>As per the regulations, FSSAI license is valid for a period of 1 to 5 years from the date of issue of registration as specified by the authority. The initial validity or the term of registration will be varying from 1 to 5 years as chosen by the food business operators themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since, the primary registration given to every food business operator is limited only to a number of years. Every food business operator is required to renew their <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FSSAI registration (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/tirupur\/fssai-registration\" target=\"_blank\">FSSAI registration<\/a> before its expiry in order to continue receiving the benefits of such license.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The application for the renewal\nof registration must be made at least 30 days prior to the date of expiry\nmentioned in the current food license. Any renewal application is filed beyond\nthe mentioned date, then the applicant should pay a fine of about Rs.100\/- per\nday of delay. Moreover, if a food business operator misses to renew the <em>FSSAI license<\/em>, then the operator should\napply freshly for the FSSAI license. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure for Renewal of\nFSSAI License&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/h5>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"315\" height=\"118\" src=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fssai-registration-4.jpg\" alt=\"All about the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India\" class=\"wp-image-702\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fssai-registration-4.jpg 315w, https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/fssai-registration-4-300x112.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 315px) 100vw, 315px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The first and foremost step in the renewal of <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"FSSAI license (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/tirupur\/fssai-registration\" target=\"_blank\">FSSAI license<\/a> is to file Form A, in case of basic FSSAI registration or Form B in case of central or state FSSAI license with the signatures of the authorized signatory. These are the basic forms which contains business activities of the food operator which are required to be filled along with the self-attested declaration. Besides, identity proofs such as Aadhaar Card, Driving License or Voter Identity Card is also necessary.<\/li><li>The application for renewal should go with an audit report or Food Safety Management System Plan, or Certificates regarding food safety management system has to be filed.<\/li><li>Form IX i.e. form of nomination of persons by the company has to be filed in the prescribed format.<\/li><li>After receiving the application for <em>FSSAI<\/em> renewal along with all the necessary documents, the authorities will then examine the application and if necessary, could also arrange for an inspection at the premises.<\/li><li>After successful inspection by the authorities, if they are satisfied, then they issue a license in favour of the food business operator.<\/li><li>It takes not more than 60 days for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.smartcorp.in\/tirupur\/fssai-registration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"food license (opens in a new tab)\">food license<\/a> to reach the food business operator.
